Re-Piping
Re-piping services with Evans Rooter Serving Greeley and Evans Colorado.
If you’ve noticed pressurized leaks, noisy pipes or discolored water anywhere in your home, your potable water system could be failing. It may be time to consider repiping services. During a whole-home repipe, a team of plumbing specialists take a look at your home’s existing potable water delivery system and replaces all existing hot and cold water supply and drain lines, with new ones.
What are the steps involved?
While every case is different, there are usually five phases involved in a whole-home repiping project.
Consult
We begin with a no obligation consultation to thoroughly assess your plumbing needs. From there, we will work with you to establish a repair schedule that accommodates your routine with as little interference as possible.
Prep
Like most home repair services, repiping requires tools, ladders, drop cloths and more. We understand, however, that your home is a home first and a work site second. That’s why we make sure our procedures are safe, streamlined and will not in any way damage your belongings or disrupt your day-to-day.
Install
Once we have discussed a repair schedule and created a safe space to work, the installation begins. From start to finish, a whole-home repipe can take anywhere from a couple days to a full week to complete. Typically, we like to install the new system with your existing system still running, so that you have access to water until the system is fully changed over.
Changeover
The longest step of our repiping services is called the changeover. During the changeover, all of the old system’s parts are turned off, unplugged and removed to make space for the new lines and fixtures. Once the new hot and cold water lines are installed and tied in, your new system will be good to go.
Clean up
And before we go, we’ll clean up our mess! That includes any sawdust, tools, stray rust, water, or dirt left over from the installation process. It is our goal is to leave your home looking nicer than we found it— inside and out.
What are the benefits?
The primary benefit of a whole-home repipe project is simply the removal of old, worn out piping, but it doesn’t end there. Many older homes were built with galvanized pipes, which are prone to breaking and can produce toxic byproducts. With the installation of new fixtures, your plumber will replace old water lines new products that are made with higher quality materials,
like copper and PEX. Copper piping has a higher resistance to corrosion and bacterial build-up, while PEX piping is more flexible and less susceptible to bursting. Another benefit of a whole-home repipe is added home value, which will of course come in handy if you decide to sell in the future.
